Emotional Joe Hart admits Celtic send off made him flip out as he declares 'that club celebrates properly'

Joe Hart admits his Celtic send off will live with him forever as the keeper got emotional recalling the final league game of his career.

Hart bowed out with a Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup double, hanging up his gloves following the Hoops 1-0 victory over Rangers at Hampden. But it was the banner fans unveiled the week before during a final day win over St Mirren that really got him as he remerged from the tunnel for the second half.

The Green Brigade showed their appreciation with an image of the former Man City keeper above the words "Super Joe" as Brendan Rodgers' side prepared to start the final 45 minutes of the league campaign before getting their hands on the trophy. And Hart admitted he had to lightly punch himself on the jaw to stay focused in the face of such adulation from punters as he took to the toich for his final 45 minutes at Celtic Park.

An emotional Hart told the High Performance podcast: "I caught it out of the corner of my eye. it must have already been up. I was trying to compute what was going on but I really struggled to compute what was going on.

"I thought is that me? That's me. They had a song that they sang and then I had to flip out. I' trying to be professional here but I;ve got to, I've got to appreciate this as the guy we talked about previously. And I did.

"I just took it all in. I had to clip myself on the jaw a couple of times like, right, I've got work to do. And then I kind of took myself back into it.

"But then we had trophy lift and families on the pitch and that club celebrates properly. In the last 13 years they've won 12 leagues and still, every single trophy is celebrated like it's everything.
