Emmerdale star reveals unexpected helper as Dawn welcomes Christmas baby - and confirms sweet name

Emmerdale star Olivia Bromley has opened up about what it was like to film Dawn Fletcher's upcoming birth scenes as it's revealed the character goes into labour just before Christmas with an unexpected helper by her side.

Spoilers have revealed that Dawn's dad Will Taylor is shocked when his wife Kim Tate confirms that she played a part in Craig Reed's death back in October. Kim tells her side of the story but Will's left feeling utterly betrayed. Will’s left with a decision to make when Kim urges him to keep her reveal a secret.

The next day, Will is stunned when he finds a drunk Kim slumped against Dawn’s birthing pool. When she rushes off to puke, Will worries about the state Kim has gotten herself into. Meanwhile, over at the Christmas fair, Dawn's contractions start.

Speaking about Dawn's birth, Olivia shares how the character wants to go down the holistic routine due to her concerns around pain relief and her past drug addiction, but as it is soapland, the actress admits things aren't quite perfect for Dawn.

"As in life, these things don't necessarily all go to plan and she goes into labour at the Christmas fair and she's not with [her husband] Billy, she's actually with Aaron [Dingle]," Olivia revealed to the Manchester Evening News and other press.

"That's not her expected labour but in the end she does manage to get back and her drug-free plan goes to plan and they have a healthy baby." She added: "Aaron is not the major birthing partner but he does play a part."
