Is McDonald's open on Christmas Day and Boxing Day?
You may not have cooked Christmas dinner - or it could just be that you fancy a late-night snack.
If you forgot to fill up your fridge an easy option may be to grab some fast food and head to McDonald's for a burger. However, is McDonald's open on Christmas Day? The answer is, on the whole, no.
Most McDonald's restaurants will be closed for the day with the chain stating on its website: "Only a handful of McDonald's restaurants open on Christmas Day, please refer to the restaurant locator to confirm if your local restaurant is open during the Christmas period and what times they are trading."

So it could be worth checking the fast food firm's branch locator to see when your local McDonald's is open, but don't get your hopes up for a Christmas day Big Mac as near all of the UK's 1,270 restaurants shut.
You may have more luck on Boxing Day as most branches will reopen - however many of the 24-hour restaurants will be operate on reduced hours. For example, the Manchester Oxford Road McDonald's will only be open from 11am to 7pm.
You will have more joy over the new year with most restaurants open as normal - with 24-hour branches serving through the night into New Year's Day.
Last month McDonald's unveiled some changes to its menu as it introduced some new festive food items. These include the Big & Cheesy, the popular Chicken Big Mac, Camembert Cheese Melt Dippers, the McDonald’s Chicken Comboand the Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry.
