Emmerdale's Ryan Hawley says 'people missed' his TV return – but gives fans hope

Former Emmerdale star Ryan Hawley has hinted that some fans may have 'missed' his much-anticipated return to the small screen, but reassures that it's not too late to catch up.

Best known for his role as the troubled Robert Sugden on ITV's popular soap, his last appearance in the Dales was back in 2019, where his character was embroiled in a high-stakes plotline.

Robert Sugden became a talked-about character when he was arrested and sentenced for Lee Posner's demise, as a consequence of defending his sister Victoria Sugden from a horrific assault by Lee.

On Instagram stories, Hawley shared an image of himself in character with a message saying: "When people missed your return as Crabtree on All Creatures because they were watching the Aurora."

He also reminded them in another post: "When you know they can catch up now on Channel 5." This interaction with fans follows after Hawley gave an insight into his role, sharing a filming-related post on social media.

He uploaded a couple of selfies experimenting with different facial hair, teasingly noting: "Throwback Thursday to the looks that didn't make the cut. Season 5 starts next week."

This trip down memory lane has fans abuzz, with several clamouring for his comeback to Emmerdale. Amid the flurry of excitement, one follower expressed: "It looks good anyway. Looking forward to your next appearance on
