Emergency services scramble at Manchester Airport as easyJet flight due to land
A major emergency response descended on Manchester Airport tonight ahead of an easyJet flight's landing. Blue light services rushed out to Terminal 1 ahead of flight EZY2016's arrival from Alicante this evening (February 14).
The flight was due to land at 9.10pm. But prior to landing, a technical issue was reported from in connection with the plane's on-board computer.
It meant that emergency services had to prepare for the easyJet flight's arrival, in case of a serious situation. It's understood that the police and fire service were called out to support the incident.

Manchester Airport confirmed the flight has since landed safely. While emergency services were scrambled as a precaution, the incident has since been cleared.
It's understood passengers are being allowed to leave the flight and arrive at Terminal 1 as normal.
easyJet said in a statement: "We can confirm that flight EZY2016 from Alicante to Manchester on 14 February was met by emergency services on arrival at Manchester as a precaution only, due to a minor technical issue. The captain performed a routine landing in line with procedures and passengers disembarked normally.
“The safety of our passengers and crew is easyJet's highest priority.”
