Ellie Leah addresses Coronation Street future year after exit as former co-star says 'you're not dead'

Ellie Leach has addressed her Coronation Street exit and potential future on the cobbles for the first time since leaving last year. The actress left the cobbles in May 2023 after playing Faye Windass for 12 years.

In her final ITV soap scenes, Faye was seen heading off in a taxi driven by her dad Tim Metcalfe to start a new life in Slough with her ex Jackson Hodge and their daughter Miley, who recently came back into her life after she gave her up as a baby after falling pregnant when she was 12.

Just months later Ellie was announced as one of the celebrities set to take part in Strictly Come Dancing 2023 and the rest, as they say, is now history as the former soap star blew the judges and the audience away as her confidence grew week by week alongside professional dance partner Vito Coppola.

The pair ended up making it to the final of the series on December 16 where they beat off stiff competition from Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin and Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell to lift the Glitterball trophy and be crowned Strictly champions.

Ellie, who was the youngest-ever winner of the BBC One dance contest at 22 at the time, then toured the country with Vito and a number of their co-stars in the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour before staring her new job playing Miss Scarlett in Cluedo 2 - The Next Chapter, marking her stage debut.
