Coronation Street star giggles as she responds to who will be running away from the cobbles with likes of Gemma Atkinson

Coronation Street star Elle Mulvaney was left poking fun at her own appearance as she joined her co-stars for a snap confirming she and some of her castmates will soon be running away from the cobbles.

The actress, who is famed for playing Amy Barlow in the ITV soap, is among the cast members who will be taking part in the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run. They'll be among the tens of thousands of participants taking part in the AJ Bell Great Manchester 10k later this month and are encouraging others to join them as the half marathon event is now sold out.

Heading from the cobbles of Weatherfield to the Portland Street start line as well as Elle are Harriet Bibby (Summer Spellman), Calum Lill (Joel Deering), Adam Hussain (Aadi Alahan), Peter Ash (Paul Foreman), Channique Sterling Brown (Dee-Dee Bailey), Colson Smith (Craig Tinker), and Luca Toolan (Mason Radcliffe).

Also acing up their trainers to join them on May 26 from the Yorkshire village of Emmerdale, are stars Isabel Hodgins (Victoria Sugden) and Danny Miller (Aaron Dingle). Danny will also be joined by his good friend and co-founder of their charity Once Upon a Smile, Daniel Jillings.

Gemma Atkinson has also committed to the event and will be running with a group of friends as well as alongside her Hits Radio co-presenter Mike Toolan – who will also run with son his previously mentioned soap star son Luca. Jaz Singh, a finalist from this year’s The Traitors, will also be trading in his detective hat for trainers to run the 10k in search of a PB [personal best].
