All eight players have played a big part in the success of Hull's Academy this season, who have won their opening seven games to top the table. They are therefore unbeaten, and with 306 points on the charts, they are the highest scoring academy side on the books.

To put it context, Leeds, the big hitters in the county over the last twenty or so years, have five representatives across the two squads, with Bradford having four. Warrington have nine, with Wigan also boasting eight, and Wigan six. Hull KR and York have one-a-piece.

The Yorkshire Origin squad is coached by Leeds Rhinos Academy coach and former England and Great Britain player Chev Walker. He is assisted by Huddersfield Giants duo Tom Tsang and Adam Megretton.

2022 has seen the return of Academy Origin with a three match series taking place this year. Lancashire won a high-scoring first match 56-34. The third and final encounter takes place at Wakefield on Sunday 24 th July.
