Bayer Leverkusen star Edmond Tapsoba is catching the eye of Manchester United as they search for defensive incomings in the summer transfer window.

Tapsoba, who hails from Burkina Faso and has 38 international caps under his belt, joined Leverkusen in January 2020 from Portuguese team Vitoria Guimaraes. He was signed for around €20million and since then, he's played well over 100 games in the Bundesliga. But what else should you know about him?

Born in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, Tapsoba first made a name for himself playing football in Portugal. His impressive form led to Leverkusen paying Vitoria Guimaraes €20m to take him to the Bundesliga.

Tapsoba, who is mainly right-footed and stands at 1.92m tall, is known for his excellent passing range, calmness, speed and strength.

Tapsoba, who is under contract until 2026, has played 162 matches for Leverkusen and has been linked with other top Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur.

He has previously spoken of his admiration for Manchester City defender John Stones, admitting that he'd even watched videos of Stones on YouTube to learn from him.
