Ederson opens up on Man City future and Saudi Arabia transfer interest

Ederson has not made a decision on his Manchester City future amid interest from Al Ittihad, but conceded his is happy at the club.

Pep Guardiola said he doesn't know if Ederson will remain at the Etihad, and later expressed a desire that his goalkeeper doesn't leave. The City No.1 has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia all summer.

"I wish from the bottom of my heart that Eddie continues with us, replacing Eddie is so difficult," the manager said. City rejected a £25m bid from Al Nassr for the Brazilian and there has been contact with Al Ittihad over a deal. The Blues want significantly more than the offer they rejected and would want time to sign a replacement.

Ederson started City's pre-season defeat to AC Milan, and will have been frustrated in his role in the opening two goals that he failed to keep out. He wore the captain's armband and played most of the game before Scott Carson replaced him.

Speaking after the game at the Yankee Stadium, he offered an update on his future, refusing to commit to the club or to leaving.

"There isn't a definition yet," he told TNT Brazil. So it's really good to hear that from him.

"I'm happy here, having a good moment with my teammates, I'm enjoying as well to get my fitness back on track. I'm very calm, whatever happens is in God's hands and He knows the right way to go. Whatever he gives me
