Eddie Hall: 'World's Strongest man' winner turned down WWE offer in 2018

Former professional strongman Eddie Hall turned down the chance to join WWE after conversations were held in 2018.

Eddie Hall is just four days away from boxing fellow strongman Hafthor ‘Thor’ Bjornsson, with their feud starting back in 2017.

Hall is a strongman-turned-boxer, but things could have turned out pretty differently for the Englishman if he accepted an offer made to him in 2018.

Speaking to Sport360 in 2018, Eddie Hall revealed that he’d been approached by WWE about coming in, and was considering the offer, which he didn’t end up taking.

“We’ve been approached by them [WWE] and it’s something we’ll look at.

At the time, Hall explained that he was busy with appearances and other work, so was going to take the time with his manager to figure out what was the best offer for him, which didn’t end up being WWE:

“I’m doing so well with all the appearances, endorsements and all the potential TV work coming my way so I’m just biding my time. Me and my manager are just going to pick the best option and go from there.”

If he did end up accepting WWE’s offer, Hall would not have been the first person to have competed in strong man competitions and then gone on to work for Vince McMahon.

After competing in the Olympic games as a powerlifter, Mark Henry went on to join WWE, becoming a World Heavyweight Champion within the company in 2011.

So, if Hall did end up working for WWE, Mark Henry probably would have been a good source of inspiration for him, but that didn’t end up happening.

However, as noted, Hall is set to box fellow strongman Hafthor Bjornsson this weekend, and you can find out more about that fight, including how and when to watch it, by clicking right here.
