Thor Bjornsson has mocked Eddie Hall with a clip of the Englishman hitting the canvas in their grudge fight.

Hall was dropped in the third and sixth rounds as he lost on points to his former strongman rival in Dubai on Saturday night.

Before the fight, Hall had questioned whether technique would come into the equation given the men weighed a combined 600lb.

But alongside a video of the second knockdown, Bjornsson said on social media: "I guess technique DOES matter. Who knew."

Bjornsson himself had been adjudged to have been kept up by the ropes in the second round and the referee administered a count.

But the Icelander took over as the fight progressed, with the knockdowns making sure of victory.

Bjornsson had opted to prepare for the fight by taking three warm-up bouts over the last two years.

He took on professional boxers Steven Ward and Simon Vallily in bouts which were not scored.

He also stopped arm-wrestler Devon Larratt last September in a hastily-arranged fight which was organised when Hall pulled out with a torn bicep.

Hall, on the other hand, opted against a warm-up bout and shared little footage of his preparations on social media.

Bjornsson did, however, admit after the fight that his rival carried significant power.

"He put up a hell of a battle. I'd never been dropped in training so he really can punch hard. But today I believe boxing technique won," he said.

Hall made his first post-fight comments in a video posted
