Ebbsfleet United sign former Southampton, Sunderland and Eastleigh defender Jake Vokins

Ebbsfleet boss Josh Wright has signed a defender with Premier League experience.

Left-back Jake Vokins has signed for the Fleet after being released by National League Eastleigh at the end of last season.

The 26-year-old played in the Premier League at Southampton, making his debut against Brighton in 2020 and also featuring against Arsenal the following season. He scored on his first senior start against Huddersfield in the FA Cup in January 2020.

Vokins also featured four times in League 1 for Sunderland before a loan move to Ross County saw regular gametime north of the border.

Further loan spells followed at Woking and Eastleigh Vokins making that move permanent after leaving Southampton in the summer of 2024.

He played against Ebbsfleet at Stonebridge Road for Eastleigh in November 2024.

Vokins has represented England 16 times from under-17 to under-19 level, playing in the Under-17 European Championship Final against Spain in 2017.

It’s the ninth new signing this summer for Ebbsfleet, who have also completed deals for Will Tizzard, Will Buse, James Vennings, Olly Box, Camron Gbadebo, Harvey Walker, Aramide Oteh and Danny Ogunleye
