Ebbsfleet United manager Josh Wright says their 1-0 win at Chelmsford City in National League South was his favourite performance of the season

Ebbsfleet boss Josh Wright declared their impressive display at Chelmsford as his favourite win of the season so far.

The Fleet completed the double over their big-spending Essex rivals in National League South thanks to a first-half winner from Dominic Samuel.

“It's quite weird and I don't like it,” said Wright on two of their three away wins coming at pre-season favourites Dagenham and Chelmsford.

“But if you look at the points we've dropped, without being disrespectful to one or two sides, they are down there for one reason or another.

“I'm a big believer that that's a little bit of a mindset situation. I was a player, sometimes there's a feeling or an atmosphere there's something (more) riding (on it). That shouldn't be the case, because it's always just three points.

“But when you play the so-called bigger sides, there's not so much pressure but it becomes a little bit of a big game.

“Look, we're over that in terms of dropping points against some of those sides and we need to make sure when we come up against whoever it is that are lower in the table than us, that we go toe-to-toe with them like we have done against Dagenham and Chelmsford.

“It was a fantastic result on Saturday, it's probably my favourite three points of the season.

“It really reminded me of Dagenham. If we’d got the second goal in the second half, it would have been exactly like Dagenham.

“I'm proud of the boys, it was a fantastic performance, but it's a performance that we can't get too high with and another performance that we need to build on now and keep pushing in the right direction.”

Ebbsfleet have deserved to win at both Dagenham and Chelmsford, and haven’t conceded a goal in the process.
