Ebbsfleet United manager Josh Wright says goals for three of his strikers is their biggest win at the start of the National League South season
Ebbsfleet boss Josh Wright is delighted that three of his strikers have already got off the mark this season.
Josh Coley netted his first goal for the club by scoring the winner against Chelmsford on Tuesday night in National League South.
Aaron Cosgrave and Kwesi Appiah have also opened their account in the first three games of the campaign, with three wins putting the Fleet top-of-the-table.
“That’s the big pleasing thing for me,” admitted Wright. “It’s the fact that it’s three strikers, you want your strikers on the goals.
“To be successful, you need your strikers getting goals and that's a big reason why they play. But they’re also giving up a lot of other stuff as well.
“They’re giving so much in terms of in possession and out of possession, but if they can keep chipping in with goals, then that’s only going to be another positive for us.
“It’s a team collective. They might be the ones who stick it in the net, but you need your build-up. You need your structure behind it. You need your patterns. You need all different things to score a goal. You need runs.
“So, we need everyone to keep pulling and pushing in the right direction as we are at the moment.”
Wright believes Coley’s goal will do wonders for the forward who moved to Stonebridge Road from Sutton in the close season.
He’s already made a big impression and the Fleet boss says there’s plenty more to come.
“It’s nice with Josh,” added Wright. “He’s been fantastic in his first few games, and he was in pre-season.
“I’ve had one or two individual chats with him and I can’t stress how much he deserved that goal.
“It’ll only do him good and fill him with more confidence because at the moment, he’s been incredible for us.
“I can tell you now, he’s still got more. He
