Ebbsfleet United manager Josh Wright reacts to goalless draw at Hemel Hempstead in National League South

Ebbsfleet boss Josh Wright admitted neither side did enough to win the game on Tuesday night.

The Fleet produced a solid defensive display but lacked attacking flair in a goalless draw at Hemel Hempstead in National League South.

Wright insisted it was still a decent point against a side that have already beaten Dorking and Torquay this season.

“I've given their manager credit and he's given me credit for what it's worth, saying that we're by far the best side they've played,” disclosed Wright.

“For him to say that when we weren't at our best, that's always a good sign.

“We've got more than that and at the same time, after Saturday and the last two or three games, it’s a decent point.

“You can't shy away from that being a decent point. It's a tough place to come on a Tuesday night, wet, skiddy surface.

“We don't always play on 3G, of course, it can be different, the game can play differently.

“I think both sides will take the point and look at it as probably the right result.”

Wright admitted his side can be better on the ball but he didn’t want to take away from what was a solid display from his team.

He was also lacking attacking options with strikers Dominic Samuel and Kwesi Appiah both ruled out through injury.

“We certainly can be a lot more proactive on the ball,” he conceded. “We have been this season, even in the game that we lost on Saturday.

“We played some really good stuff at Hampton on Saturday and we didn't quite get to those levels at Hemel in terms of that.

“We just lacked a little bit of firepower and different options up top, especially off the bench, but the boys worked very hard.

“They put in a very dogged performance. We asked a lot of questions in terms of territory in the first 25-30 minutes, and
