Ebbsfleet United manager Josh Wright reacts to 2-2 draw with Eastbourne Borough after winless National League South run extends to seven games
Ebbsfleet manager Josh Wright has admitted he’s concerned by their winless run in National League South.
The Fleet are without a victory since the first week of the season when they won their opening three games.
They looked set to end that run on Saturday but a goalkeeping blunder by Mark Cousins handed Eastbourne Borough a 95th-minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Stonebridge Road.
“It already is (concerning) because you want to be winning football games and we should be winning more football games in the league than what we are,” said Wright.
“It's fine margins, little percentages, little moments that are costing us and I said that to them. And of course, that's too many.
“It would be a little bit different if they were defeats, all defeats, but they're not. Obviously, there's quite a few draws in there, coupled in the middle with some FA Cup wins.
“There's wins in terms of the run of games because cup competitions are competitions that we want to do well in. We want to win football games.
“It's frustrating, but that should have been a win. No matter how we did it, how it was going to be, that should have been a victory.
“But we're not because of mistakes so that's something we have to address. We have to look back at it, find out why and how. And then we regroup and we make sure we start putting some wins together.”
The manner of the draw against Eastbourne was a bitter blow for Wright. Hesitation in the home defence presented the visitors with the chance to break for the opening goal.
However, Ebbsfleet looked to have turned it around and were seconds away from victory when Cousins’ clearance was charged down.
“They're individual errors that no matter what you do day in, day out, what you work on, you can't stop those
