EastEnders fans 'work out' who killed Harry Mitchell's girlfriend - and what happens next

EastEnders fans are 'certain' they know who killed Harry Mitchell's ex-girlfriend as Jack Branning dropped a bombshell during Tuesday's episode of the BBC One soap (October 22). During the latest trip to the Square, copper Jack (Scott Maslen) told daughter Penny (Kitty Castledine) about Harry's (Elijah Holloway) past before he moved into Walford.

After doing some digging, Jack confirmed Harry had been accused of killing his ex-girlfriend following a public row. As Shereen vanished after they argued, she was presumed dead but Harry was never charged.

Love-struck Harry wasted no time is proclaiming his innocence to Penny and explained he had a difficult relationship with Shereen, and the pair "gave as good as they got", hinting at their fiery past.

Penny believed Harry's story as they planned to take Jack down after he punched Harry in the street, and failed to support Penny with the club crush saga.

As fans of the ITV soap will know, Harry arrived in the Square during the summer alongside his younger brother Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) and their dad Harry (Roland Manookian).

The trio has since hinted at their past, and running away from someone, although it is not yet clear exactly what happened.

Now, EastEnders fans are predicting Harry's mum to have been the person who killed Shereen. Harry's ex-wife Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) is set to arrive in Walford in the near future sparking rumour she has something to do with her son's dark past.

Taking to X, one viewer wrote: "Harry’s mother did (kill her) I’d say #EastEnders", while a second stated: "Harry is covering for his mother #EastEnders."

A third chimed in: "Harry’s mother killed his girlfriend that’s why they ran that’s why they’ve been on edge #EastEnders."
