WATCH | Diehard SA fans camp outside team hotel to greet Siya and their Springbok heroes

Edinburgh. - The excitement in Edinburgh is building ahead of Sunday's Test between the Springboks and Scotland at Murrayfield, and, by Saturday, more and more South African fans were being seen in the city centre.

Vibrant at the best of times and a global tourist destination, the city has a clear 'green and gold' flavour this weekend.

There is a strong South African community in Edinburgh, and for some diehard Bok fans, this was the perfect opportunity to catch a closer glimpse of their heroes.

Word has gotten out that the Boks are based at the swanky Radisson Blu on the Royal Mile, which means that at any given time of day, you are likely to find a few fans clad in their Bok jerseys waiting patiently for their shot at an autograph or a selfie.

They were in luck on Saturday morning.

Inside the hotel, the Boks were gathering for their team photograph while, outside, the team bus was waiting to take them to their training session.

As they walked out, one by one, the Boks were greeted by warm cheers, with fans calling out their names and stopping them for selfies.

Rassie Erasmus and Siya Kolisi, in particular, were hounded by fans as Springbok management had to get involved to pave a way for them to climb onto the bus.

In the video below, shot outside the team hotel, you can take in some of those scenes.

Kick-off on Sunday, meanwhile, is at 18:10 (SA time).

News24 Sport Editor Lloyd Burnard and Netwerk24 senior rugby writer Stephen Nell are in the United Kingdom following the Springboks on their end-of-year tour.
