Great British Bake Off star fears she's 'going home' following baking disaster

One contestant on Great British Bake Off was left fearing the worst after her pastry tarts failed to rise to the occasion.

In the opening challenge, the bakers were tasked with crafting a shortcrust pastry tart filled with frangipane and an additional flavour, although disaster quickly struck.

Prue pointed out that the pastry was underbaked, a sentiment Paul echoed, adding: "It's quite soggy actually."

Reflecting on the feedback in front of the camera, Illiyin expressed her frustration: "To have let myself down in that pastry, is just like 'dammit!'".

In the technical challenge, Paul set the task for the bakers to whip up a spanakopita spinach pie. Illiyin found her stride
