East Kilbride striker Cami Elliott says he's back 'home' to help fire side to SPFL

Striker Cami Elliott is back ‘home’ at East Kilbride after an 18-month spell in Ireland - and says he has returned to K-Park determined to fire the side into the SPFL.

The 25-year-old, who signed for Mick Kennedy’s side last week, enjoyed a prolific spell at Kilby between July 2021 and January 2023, which earned him a full-time move to League of Ireland Premier side Dundalk.

By his own admission, that move didn’t go according to plan with one goal in 42 appearances for the Lilywhites. But he hopes to rediscover his goalscoring form at East Kilbride to help the team claim that elusive promotion out of the Lowland League after years of close calls in the pyramid play-offs.

Elliott, who netted 15 goals in 21 appearances in half a season for EK before the Dundalk move, got off to the perfect start in his second spell, netting a double on his debut in Saturday’s 7-1 win over Civil Service Strollers in the opening game of the Lowland League.

And he said: “It was a brilliant 18 months away. I really enjoyed it. I am not going to look back on it in a negative way at all, I’m just going to use all the experience I have taken from it and, hopefully, kick on back at East Kilbride.

“To be honest, I didn’t do the job over in Ireland in front of goal so hopefully being back in a familiar place will help me find the net early and help the boys make a good start to the season.

“The ultimate goal has always been to get East Kilbride into League Two so hopefully I can help them do that this season. My form at East Kilbride is what earned me my move to Dundalk so hopefully I can find that again.
