DWP Cold Weather Payment to be paid to 27 Greater Manchester postcodes - full list

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed a further 200,000 people will receive a Cold Weather Payment following freezing conditions - including 83,000 people across Greater Manchester.

Residents in 148 postcode areas across the country will receive the £25 payments after the Met Office confirmed that they endured sub-zero temperatures for seven consecutive days. The payments are being made for the period between January 13 and 19.

Twenty seven of the postcode areas are in Greater Manchester. They follow on from the announcement of payments to over 210,000 people in other parts of England and Wales which was made last week.

Cold Weather Payments are triggered when the Met Office confirms that the average temperature is zero degrees or below for seven consecutive days at a particular weather station, between 1 November and 31 March.

To be eligible you must live in England and Wales and receive a range of benefits including Pension Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Universal Credit, Support for Mortgage Interest.
