Dwight Gayle signs for Hibs as former Newcastle Utd striker pens one year Easter Road deal

Experienced striker Dwight Gayle has signed for Hibs on a one-year deal.

The Easter Road side had been looking to further strengthen their attacking ranks beyond the window and scanning the free agent market for a new hitman to compete with Kieron Bowie and Mykola Kukharevych after a difficult start to the season. They were linked with Gayle during the window but didn't follow up with firm interest at the time.

Now however it's been announced that the 34-year-old has penned an initial one-year deal til the summer of 2025. He most recently featured for Derby County in the tail end of last season but now heads to Leith for his first crack at the SPFL.
