Dumbarton vs Rangers at risk of postponement as deep freeze puts Scottish Cup clash in jeopardy

Dumbarton vs Rangers is set to go to a 1pm pitch inspection on Saturday as fans wait to see if the Scottish Cup fourth round clash goes ahead.

The Sons pitch hasn't had its troubles to seek in recent seasons when it comes to call-offs, and cold weather has been biting the nation this week. Already, Brora Rangers vs Cove Rangers is subject to a pitch inspection and now the turf at the League Two club's The Rock will be inspected.

Kick-off is not until 5:30pm with the game due to be broadcast on Viaplay Sports. Their will be a larger than normal attendance with Rangers bringing a sizeable away following the Premiership winter break, but they won't find out until tomorrow afternoon whether or not this one goes ahead or not. A short tweet from the Scottish Cup X account reads: "There will be a pitch inspection at Dumbarton Stadium tomorrow at 1pm ahead of Dumbarton vs Rangers in the Scottish Gas Men's Scottish Cup Fourth Round."
