Dumbarton's Kalvin Orsi admits he couldn't remember last goal after ending 785 day drought

Matchwinner Kalvin Orsi joked that it was “about time” he got on the scoresheet, after ending a two year goal drought with the winning strike against East Fife.

The winger, a standout performer for Sons last season, admitted that he had forgotten what it felt like to find the net - with his fourth minute finish at New Bayview his first in 785 days.

Kalvin, who was last on target in a 2-1 victory against Falkirk in September 2021, told the Lennox: “It is about time. It’s been a full season. I couldn’t even remember when I last scored.

“It probably didn’t even feel real when I got the goal. It crossed the line but I hadn’t really processed it until after the game.

Kalvin continued: “The injury hindered me at the start of the season. I missed out on most of pre-season, but I’m starting to get into my stride.

“I don’t feel 100 percent just yet, but I’m getting there. In a couple of weeks I should be back to full fitness for the first time this season.”

And he said he’s loving being reunited with cousin Carlo Pignatiello - with the Scottish-Italian duo proving almost unstoppable down Dumbarton’s right-wing.

The 26-year-old added: “It’s been brilliant playing with Carlo again. I think that we work well together, we get each
