Dover Athletic to enjoy overnight stay in hotel ahead of away National League South Bank Holiday match at Torquay United

Manager Jake Leberl has revealed Dover are treating themselves to an overnight stay ahead of their Bank Holiday game against Torquay.

Whites intend to break-up their 260-mile trip to Plainmoor with a stay in a hotel tonight before tomorrow’s away match against Paul Wotton’s Gulls.

It will be a second National League South fixture in 48 hours for Dover after they beat Salisbury 2-0 to make it three successive league wins on Saturday.

“They’re a very good side,” said Leberl on Torquay, who suffered a 2-1 weekend loss at Horsham. “They have got a really good manager.

“I’m really looking forward to going down there. I think it’s a brilliant stadium and a really nice place.

“We’re travelling today. The chairman (Jim Parmenter) has put on a coach and us up in a hotel, which we’re really grateful for, and that gives us the best preparation so there’s no excuses.

“It’s a level playing field. We have started as well as they have done.

Goals from defender Jalen Jones and striker George Nikaj in either half ensured Leberl’s charges beat Salisbury.

Leberl, who also saw substitute Luke Baptiste thunder a stoppage-time penalty against the crossbar, reflected: “It was a really good day.

“It was a really solid performance, I wouldn’t say it was dominant.

“I felt they came here, had a right go and caused quite a few problems. But I felt we defended really well - like we did at Eastbourne the other night [winning 1-0 on Tuesday] - so I’m really pleased with the clean sheet.

“Like last season, we always look like
