Donny van de Beek confirms Manchester United exit with emotional statement

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has announced he will be leaving Old Trafford permanently this summer.

Van de Beek joined United from Ajax in September 2020 with a big reputation having enjoyed success under Erik ten Hag in Amsterdam. However, his Reds career never took off as he was never entrusted to be a first-team regular.

He made 19 appearances in the 2020/21 Premier League season but from then onwards he was a fringe player at best. In 2021/22, United loaned Van de Beek to Everton to regain some first-team fitness.

In a message to his followers on Instagram, the Dutchman shared that Wednesday, July 10 would be his last day at the club. He posted: "Dear Manchester United family. Today is a memorable day as my adventure at the club comes to an end.

"I want to thank you all for your support throughout the years. From the moment we arrived at Manchester United, we felt extremely welcome and we are grateful for that.

"Thank you to everyone at the club for making us feel at home. A special thanks to all the fans that made these years unforgettable.

"Besides the football, the birth of our two children here ensures that Manchester
