Doctor Who's Ncuti Gatwa to feature in free Manchester event with host of famous faces
A big screen event in Manchester is set to feature Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa and a host of famous faces from stage and screen.
The free event from National Theatre Live will take place at the Arndale shopping centre next Wednesday (January 22) and will feature the likes of The IT Crowd's Katherine Parkinson and Gavin & Stacey star Adrian Scarborough.
The theatrical experience will allow people the opportunity to recite an excerpt of a famous play alongside a famous actor - who will all be beamed from the National Theatre in London to the big screen in the middle of the shopping centre to interact live with visitors.
Alongside Katherine, Adrian and Ncuti, who is also known for his roles in Sex Education and Barbie, the event is set to also feature Game of Thrones actor Owen Teale, Black Ops star Hammed Animashaun, Line of Duty's Craig Parkinson and Much Ado About Nothing star Eben Figueiredo.
Alex Rider actress Ronke Adekoluejo, former Home and Away star Eliza Scanlen and Star Wars actress Amanda Lawrence - who are all starring in National Theatre’s current production of The Importance of Being Earnest alongside Ncuti - will also take part in the experience throughout the day.
From February 20, the acclaimed adaptation of the Oscar Wilde play will be screened at cinemas across the country as part of National Theatre Live’s roll-out of its productions. From March 27, Dr. Strangelove starring Steve Coogan will also screen in cinemas. Tickets for both shows can be found here.
