Manchester venue with strict no-phone policy makes special announcement after being 'inundated' with requests
One of Manchester’s newest nightclubs which boasts a strict no phone policy has unveiled plans for a new £5 weekly event featuring aspiring DJs.
Amber’s, located within the Circle Square neighbourhood just off Oxford Road in the city centre, first opened its doors in December promising a space where ravers can enjoy themselves without distractions.
Featuring a top tier sound system and a line-up of performers who aren’t revealed until after events, the 1,000-capacity club has already gone down a hit with a number of gigs and parties selling out in advance.
As Amber’s continues to offer something different in the city, the club has now unveiled details of a new weekly Sunday event that will put new and undiscovered DJs at the forefront of the action.
Afters At Amber’s will showcase mixes and music from aspiring DJs across a range of genres and sounds who, after submitting their work to club bosses, will be given the chance to perform alongside special guests and residents.
The event will run each Sunday from 4pm to 2am with tickets priced at just £5. There will also be a special industry discount at the bar for those who work in the hospitality sector.
The motivation for the weekly event came about as, since opening, club bosses say they have been ‘inundated’ with submissions from local and emerging artists wanting to spotlight their music at the elusive venue.
“We’ve been absolutely inundated with DJs sending us mixes, asking how to get involved at the club,” director Jeremy Abbott explained. “With Afters at Amber’s, aspiring DJs now have a tangible way to get in touch and have a chance to play at the venue.
“We want to make sure that the local music community has a space to showcase their talent and a place to start
