Dimitar Berbatov names two players who should be sold after forgetting one was still at Man United

Dimitar Berbatov says Donny van de Beek is right to end his Manchester United “nightmare” by signing for Frankfurt and says he can see why Jadon Sancho’s exit may also be beneficial.

Van de Beek is closing in on a £12.5million January switch to Germany while Sancho is expected to leave on loan next month as his fallout with Erik ten Hag drags on. The United boss has indicated he would be willing to welcome the England international back into the squad if he apologises for his actions.

Sancho accused Ten Hag of lying about the reasons why he was dropped from the squad to face Arsenal and has not played since August as a result. Van de Beek has actually been offered less game time than Sancho despite being available all season.

He has mustered just over 20 minutes across two substitute appearances while Sancho has clocked 75 minutes across his three outings so far. "There are a few players that are at a point in their United career where it would be best for everyone if they moved on,” Berbatov told Betfair.

“I can understand if Jadon Sancho leaves. He needs to find answers to his situation because at the moment it's helping no one. I forget that Donny van de Beek is still a United player. His time at Old Trafford has been a nightmare for him and he needs to leave as soon as possible.”

Berbatov added: “I don't expect anyone else to be signed or sold in January unless there's a really good deal to be had.”
