Detectives release CCTV image of man they want to speak to after train passenger sexually assaulted

Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a train passenger was sexually assaulted on two services. British Transport Police (BTP) has released a photo today (August 24).

The force says both the victim and suspect boarded a service from Huddersfield to Manchester Piccadilly at 4.27pm on Friday, June 30. They both then boarded a second train from Piccadilly to Manchester Airport.

BTP says the victim was subjected to a serious sexual assault on both services. The suspect went on to catch a flight from Manchester Airport to Dubai, the force says.

Police are asking anyone who recognises the man in them image to come forward as soon as possible. A spokesperson for BTP added: "Officers believe the man in the image may have information which could help their investigation.

"If you recognise him, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2300086298. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
