Dermot O'Leary says it's 'the last time' as guest swears amid Alison Hammond 'can't' response

Dermot O'Leary jokingly made a statement about one of This Morning's daily segments as a guest swore live on air forcing an apology. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme on Tuesday (July 18) alongside co-host Alison Hammond.

And as ever, the pair were seen on the famous sofa early into the second show of the week chatting to their trio of guests who were on hand to talk through the latest news headlines. Frequent contributors Tom Swarbrick and Isla Traquair were also joined briefly by table expert Simon Calder as he discussed the heatwave in Europe with temperatures expected to top 40C.

Simon then headed off before Dermot, Alison, Tom and Isla continued to discuss the other big stories of the day as well as the quirkier topics that are getting people talking.

And they were soon seen and heard moving onto the lighter subject of the nation's favourite cocktails with the margarita - a Tequila and lime tipple - reportedly taking the top spot. The hosts and guests were treated to their own beverage but as Isla took a sip, she pulled a disgusted face.

But Alison, 48, said hers was "very nice" before realising her cocktail wasn't virgin as requested. "Has that actually got alcohol in it?" she asked. "I can't be drinking this I'm working!" Alison laughed. "I asked for a non-acoholic one!"

Isla then responded: "I had one sip and I'm clearly p****d already." Both Isla and Alison were quick to say sorry to viewers for the slip-up way before the watershed which breaks one of live daytime TV's golden rules.

It was then that Dermot, 50, said: "It will be the last time we do that item," to which Alison then added:
