Good Morning Britain viewers spot Chris Tarrant wardrobe error as Susanna Reid tells him 'you've got to go back'

Good Morning Britain viewers were flocking to comment as they spotted Chris Tarrant's wardrobe blunder before he exposed it for himself live on air. The former Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? star appeared on the ITV news programme on Tuesday (July 18) to chat to Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley.

He was on the show to talk about his book, It's Not A Proper Job, before he was asked about the quiz show he used to host and that legendary 'cough' episode that has since been turned into an ITV drama.

Speaking about his hosting duties on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? from 1994 – 2014, Chris discussed a time he was trying to go into a pub without being recognised. He said: "I ordered a pint and the landlord didn’t really look up. He held it in his hand and said 'But we don’t want to give you that', then he poured it in the swill bucket.'

But while chatting to Richard and Susanna, Chris revealed he had bought the new suit he was wearing himself but had noticed that the shop assistant had failed to remove the anti-theft device.

Chris, 76, was unable to remove the device himself and showed his back to the cameras so they could see that the plastic tag was still attached. He said: "I'm looking elegant. New suit. First time on. Looking great. But on the back..."

Susanna also clamoured to share the story as she said: "I told you we might mention this, sorry... what a smart new suit... it has still got the shop tag on it which is so annoying because you can't cut it out, you've got to go back to get it removed."
