Derby County trial players assessed as boss gives Krystian Bielik update

Derby County interim manager Liam Rosenior says Amadou Diallo has a "really good pedigree" after handing the former West Ham winger a trial.

The Rams included Diallo in the squad for last night's 1-0 defeat at Stevenage and he came on at half-time in the pre-season friendly clash. Diallo has been on trial at Chelsea this summer having left the Hammers but is looking for a new club as a free agent.

The 19-year-old will hope to have done enough to earn himself the chance of being included in Derby's next pre-season assignment which is against Leicester City this weekend. Rosenior said Derby have been aware of the winger all summer and felt he showed glimpses of his potential at the Lamex Stadium.

Liam Rosenior says Krystian Bielik is in a "really good place" as the midfielder awaits to make his first appearance in pre-season.

Bielik has not been involved in any of Derby's friendlies so far but is working on his fitness as the Rams continue their preparations for the League One campaign which begins in 10 days' time. The Poland international had been away on duty with his country in the summer, but picked up a knock and did not play in any of their Nations League games.

But Rosenior says he is making good progress having been given a fitness program that has been tailored to the needs of the former Arsenal player who joined the Rams for £8m in 2019.
