Deontay Wilder vs Anthony Joshua is 'the biggest fight in the world'

Deontay Wilder vs Anthony Joshua is still ‘the biggest fight in the world’, according to The Bronze Bomber.

That’s despite the pair suffering back-to-back losses to Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk respectively.

Wilder, 37, has not fought since being knocked out by the Gypsy King in their trilogy fight in Las Vegas last October.

Joshua, meanwhile, is currently licking his wounds following his rematch defeat to Usyk in Saudi Arabia on August 20.

The pride of Britain is currently in the process of rebuilding his career, but promoter Eddie Hearn wants to throw him in there with the likes of Fury and Wilder as soon as possible.

Hearn recently revealed that he had offered Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel ‘so much money’ but he ignored the offer of a fight against Joshua.

But Wilder has refused to shut the door on it completely as he insists it remains the biggest fight in boxing.

“It’s not done, I mean I’m still in the business, Joshua’s still in the business,” he said during an appearance on The Good Fight with Kate Abdo per The Express.

“As long as we’re in the business of fighting there’s always going to be that opportunity right there because true or not, every time, I hear people saying ‘when are you going to fight Joshua?’, right now that’s the biggest fight in the world between us still right now, still.

“That is one of the number one matchups that everyone asks me about, so it’s not a question of if, it’s when. It just has to be the right timing, we’re not falling along with Eddie’s games and stuff like that, they drained us… When you come to us make sure it’s at the appropriate time, not when we already have a fight lined up.”
