Denzel Dumfries' 'dynamic' Manchester United transfer hint when quizzed on Inter Milan future

Denzel Dumfries has said he is happy at Inter Milan and has no reason to depart the Italian side but admitted that 'players come and go' amid rumours of a move to Manchester United.

The Netherlands international has been mooted as a potential right-back target for United manager Erik ten Hag. The Reds have Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot in that position at present.

The 27-year-old turned out 51 times in all competitions for Inter in the recently concluded campaign which ended in defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League final.

Dumfries has two years left to run on his deal at the San Siro, having joined from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in 2021. There is therefore no immediate pressure for Inter to sell the Netherlands international.

Dumfries previously admitted he is not thinking about leaving Inter in the aftermath of the Champions League disappointment this summer. Being asked fresh questions on the subject, Dumfries reiterated that he is happy with the Nerazzurri, but admits that the modern game is "very dynamic" which sees players come and go and has said people must "wait and see what happens".

Speaking while on international duty with the Netherlands, Dumfries said: “I’m very proud to play for this team. These last two years have been fantastic, and I’ve very proud whenever I’m driving to Appiano [Inter’s training ground].

“However, modern football is very dynamic. Players come and go. I have no reason to leave. I love Inter. But as I said before, you have to wait and see what happens. However, I’m very happy to play for Inter.”
