Delays after multi-vehicle crash on busy Cardiff road

A busy road between the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff was partially blocked this afternoon following a multi-vehicle accident. According to traffic monitoring service Inrix, the A4055 southbound was partially blocked with queuing traffic from the A4232 to A4160 Penarth Road near the Barons Court traffic lights.

South Wales Police confirmed that four vehicles were involved in the incident. They also confirmed that emergency services were called to the scene of the road traffic collision which was reported just before 2pm on the Cogan Spur in Penarth.

At around 6pm however, Inrix confirmed that traffic was now easing in the area having previously stretched from A4232 to A4160 Penarth Road (Barons Court Traffic Lights).
