David Moyes raises doubts over Erik ten Hag impact at Manchester United

West Ham manager David Moyes has praised Erik ten Hag’s style of play as a coach but has raised doubts over whether he is the right fit for Manchester United.

The Dutchman was confirmed as the club’s next permanent boss on Thursday ahead of his arrival in the summer. He will join Old Trafford on a three-year deal with an option for a further 12 months.

Ten Hag was the fans’ clear favourite among the candidates for the role. He’s also been praised for his work at Ajax, which has seen him win two league-and-cup doubles having also come within a minute of the 2019 Champions League final.

Former United boss David Moyes, who has praised his ex-employers, says he has been impressed with Ten Hag’s work at the Dutch giants during his tenure. But he wonders whether his arrival will instigate the revival the club so desperately wants.

As per the Mirror, he said: "I don't know him but I obviously admire Ajax and how they've played over the last few years. He's joining a great club and he'll find that when he gets there.

“It's a huge club and a good club to work for. [His coaching style] adds to the variations of what we have got from different coaches from different parts of the world.

“But will it make Man United stronger? We'll have to wait and see."
