Danilo to Rangers transfer fee and wages played down by Michael Beale as boss makes 'nowhere near' claim

Michael Beale has played down the transfer fee he's set to pay for Danilo.

Rangers have had a bid accepted for the Feyenoord striker, who has said his goodbye to his teammates in Rotterdam prior to making his way to Glasgow to complete the switch. It has been reported that the Gers lodged an offer of around £6million. The Dutch champions booted out an initial bid of £4.5million, but relented at the second attempt. It's also been claimed that the Brazilian could warn up to £45,000 per week in Govan.

Beale is hoping to have his man, and potentially another new face, in the building next week. Jose Cifuentes has already signed a pre-contract agreement but Beale would like to bring the Los Angeles FC midfielder over sooner rather than later. But he was at pains to insists the numbers mentioned in relation to Danilo aren't as big as reports have suggested.

"i'd say you just need to be patient until after the weekend and not listen to the size of the fee or the size of the salary," he said. "I can tell you it's nowhere near the size of both. But if you stay patient, then I'm hoping there'll be some good news at the start of next week for everybody. "

As for players head for the exit, Beale admitted there's interest in several of his men, but departures might come closer to the end of the window. He added: "There's been enquiries about three or four players. Next week we have to name a European squad for the first two games and some players won't make that. It's been like that every season here.

"As we get closer to it and I'm not using everybody, you'll find that one or two probably want guarantees of playing and I'm probably not willing to give that and they'll have to hedge their bets one way or another."
