Danilo not only Rangers transfer target in attack holding talks as Michael Beale confident Jose Cifuentes will be next

Michael Beale has admitted Danilo isn't the only forward Rangers are talking to.

The Ibrox club have seen one bid booted out by Dutch champions but are expected to return to try to land the Brazilian again. Beale has already added Sam Lammers, who opened his Gers account in a 2-1 friendly defeat to Newcastle, Cyriel Dessers and Abdallah Sima to his squad in order to bolster his attacking options.

And while the Londoner admits Danilo is a player he likes, Beale teasingly told fans that his is the only name that's come out and that he is in fact chasing as yet unknown names as the search for more firepower intensifies. He said: "He's a player we like. I think a lot of people like him. He's not the only forward we're talking to - that's seems to be the one that's been let out. It's been more public, but there's no news on it."

A deal for LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes is thought to be edging closer. Beale admitted Rangers' interest but warned that things can always change before a transfer is signed and sealed.

"Cifuentes again, is a player that we like and we're hoping that one can be moved on," he said. "I think we need to bring one more midfielder in.

"He's powerful, he can work the corridor. He can play deeper or as an eight and make the box as well. But until he's here, these ones can take a twist and a turn."
