Cursed Jim Goodwin runs Dundee United gauntlet of rage as fizzing punters fume over Partick Thistle defeat

Ashen-faced Jim Goodwin and his players were showered with Dundee United fan fury after the luckless Irishman's nightmare 2023 showed no signs of ending.

The Tannadice boss could barely hide his anguish after Partick Thistle's 2-1 triumph left United bottom of their Viaplay Cup group days after Spartans shocked them in the opener. Craig Sibbald had United head as he finished off a well-worked goal but Kris Doolan's dogged Jags battled back and earned all three points thanks to goals from Brian Graham and Harry Milne.

It's a worrying start for a side who were relegated from the Premiership and a manager who cannot catch a break amid a dreary run of seven consecutive defeats on the spins.. Goodwin suffered pastings against Hibs and Hearts in his finals days at Aberdeen but it was the Scottish Cup humiliation against Darvel sandwiched between which put paid to his Pittodrie reign. And he is desperately seeking a spark at United as a host of half chances went begging and six minutes added on.

And his positive mood music over a United rebuild has already hit a dud note as punters let the manager and his players know all about their disastrous start to the new season. United punters have made their anger clear over multiple issues both on and off the pitch, however, the woe goes on for Goodwin and his team.
