Danilo gives Rangers fans a peek behind his injury fight as striker eyes rousing Ibrox comeback
Danilo has given Rangers fans an insight into his injury rehab as he shared his 'first steps' on the road to recovery.
The big money summer recruit has had a hard luck story first campaign in Glasgow with injuries. Earlier in the season he suffered a fractured cheekbone against St Johnstone in a collision after scoring the opening goal at McDiarmid Park. He returned to action in a protective mask and was starting to find his feet before suffering a knee injury against Hearts at Tynecastle. It was initially hoped it wouldn't be as serious as first feared but scans delivered the worst news possible with the hitman sidelined for a longer period.
The Rangers striker has been keeping supporters updated via his social media channels of his progress and his latest update will bring a positive mood to the Ibrox faithful. Sharing a clip to his Instagram stories, the Brazilian was walking in a knee brace and on crutches as he starts upping his road to recovery. A timescale for a return has not been put in place at this stage. In his debut campaign the 24-year-old has made 21 appearances across all competitions and has netted six goals and provided five assists for his team.
Philippe Clement has brought in Fabio Silva to help ease the burden on Cyriel Dessers up top due to the absence of the former Feyenoord star and team-mate Abdallah Sima. He had been at AFCON with Senegal but has since returned to his club side due to injury with the Rangers support praying it is nothing long-term after a stunning return in front of goal so far this campaign.
A statement at the weekend from the Senegal Football Federation read: "The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) informs that player Abdallah Sima left the team today after examinations
