Dani Olmo states £51m transfer case to Man City as Pep Guardiola gets huge pre-season boost

Manchester City have been given a major boost as Ederson will travel to the US pre-season tour with the squad after recovering from injury.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League but will return to first-team training in the coming days.

The goalkeeper struggled with injuries during Man City’s Premier League title-winning campaign and was forced off in the penultimate game of the season against Spurs. Back-up 'keeper Stefan Ortega replaced Ederson and went on to make a match-winning save from Heung-min Son to all but secure the title.

The injury - a fractured eye socket - forced Ederson to miss the Copa America. Since his omission from Brazil's squad, he has enjoyed a seven-week break and will be keen to keep his number-one spot at City ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Both ‘keepers are set to join Pep Guardiola’s squad for their trip to the US where they will face Celtic on July 24, plus fixtures with Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea. City then face a Community Shield clash with Manchester United at Wembley on August 10. The champions’ first League fixture of the new season takes place against Chelsea on August 18 at Stamford Bridge.

City's midfield star Rodri is a champion once again, winning Euro 2024 with Spain at the expense of England on Sunday night. Rodri's compatriot Dani Olmo also received a medal following a fine tournament with La Roja, and the 26-year-old's performances have seen him linked with a big-money move this summer - including to City.
