Dancing on Ice star Adele Roberts shared heartbreaking news moments after amazing the judges and viewers with her debut skate. The radio presenter took to the ice for the first time on Sunday night (January 21) as the second week of the ITV skating competition got underway.
The latest episode saw the second lot of six celebrities take to the ice with their professional partners for the first time before the first skate-off and elimination of the 2024 series. Adele looked emotional after she and professional skating partner Mark Hanretty put in a tear-jerking performance to I Can See Clearly Now.
But following the show, Adele revealed there was more to her emotional appearance as she's also mourning the loss of her beloved mum. She announced that her mother Jackie Roberts died earlier this month but wanted to wait until her first performance was out the way before sharing her tragic loss.

Just hours after the show ended, Adele took to social media and said she dedicated her first performance to her ‘beautiful mum’, confirming she sadly passed away on January 4th, aged just 61.
Sharing pictures of her showing her mum her ice skates and a video from her phone, Adele emotionally penned: "For you Mum. Tonight’s performance was dedicated to the memory of my beautiful Mum, Jackie Roberts. 01.09.62 - 04.01.24."
She continued: "I didn’t want to say anything until I’d managed to get through our routine tonight. So apologies if it seemed I was overly emotional. My heart is broken and I miss my mum so much. Saying goodbye to her this week was one of the hardest things
