Daizen Maeda reveals queasy Celtic debut in Parkhead Q&A as club poke fun at fishy social media blunder

Daizen Maeda has praised the Celtic support for giving him the energy to put in star performances.

But he's revealed it was beef rather than a 'large fish' that had him feeling queasy the night of his debut goal against Hibs.

A bizarre Instagram blunder saw the person responsible for the Hoops' social media output post a woman eating a plate of fish on, presumably, the wrong account on Wednesday afternoon.

It was quickly deleted but Scottish football fans are far too quick and soon the post was all over Twitter.

Introducing a Q&A with the former Yokohama F. Marinos striker, the club wrote: "Anyone interested in A̵ ̵L̵a̵r̵g̵e̵ ̵F̵i̵s̵h̵ #AskDaizen

"We have finally managed to up with @M_daizen_1020 and he will answer his favourite questions..."

Maeda scored the first of seven Celtic goals to date, four minutes into his Parkhead debut against Hibernian in January.

And the 24-year-old admits he wasn't feeling too good prior to the game.

"Goosebumps", he said.

"To tell the truth I had a stomach-ache and was sweating - I ate some f̵i̵s̵h̵ beef the night before so I think this is why."

He's developed a reputation for his extraordinary fitness and work rate and he believes the constant support from the stands helps.

He said: "I think for the supporters, they give me the energy, they come to the stadium, so I want to show an entertaining game for them. So, therefore I have all the energy."

Maeda - who has already worked under Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou at Yokohama F Marinos - finished last season as the joint-top scorer in the J-League and featured in the division's best XI.

Asked which teammate he enjoys spending the most time with, Croatian star Josip Juranovic came out on tops for supporting his iconic goal
