Cyriel Dessers claim from Rangers regular expat has Hotline caller telling him Florida sun has gone to his HEAD

Awards season always gets supporters talking and this term’s PFA Scotland nominations are no different on the Hotline.

Manager of the Year contenders are Dundee’s Tony Docherty, Falkirk’s John McGlynn and Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes. McGlynn hasn’t lost a single League One outing all season and can complete an Invincible campaign by dodging defeat against Alloa on Saturday. Some feat.

Robert McEwan, Mount Vernon, reckons that’s award-clinching stats as he said: “McGlynn’s season is a no-brainer. We are always saying that you can only beat what’s in front of you. He’s a stick-on for the award and well deserved.” John Davidson, Kirkintilloch, said: “Nice to see managers outwith the Old Firm get recognition for their achievements and, out of the three nominees, I think McInnes will get the nod as the only team to put any obstacle in front of Celtic and his achievement of getting into Europe next season.”

David Bryce, Troon, has his own take on management and stated: “Having watched Celtic this season, it is clear they are very poorly coached. For them to have played well a handful of times in such a poor league is absolutely not good enough. Spare me the elite manager nonsense about Brendan Rodgers. It’s clear that he’s a bang average coach and that we are on the road to nowhere under his management.”

Jack Butland, Matt O’Riley and James Tavernier are in the mix for the Player award, with Hearts’ Lawrence Shankland the only non-Old Firm nomination. John Scott, Grassmoor, said: “Neil Renton is never being serious about Shankland not being worthy of Player of the Year. Inconsistent, claims my fellow Hibbee. If Shankland’s been inconsistent, then every Hibs player can rightly be described as consistently bad.”
