Rangers fans emerge from the depths of despair to deliver killer Celtic blow on the Hotline

Rangers fans are still smarting after the Celtic defeat last Saturday but there is still some fighting spirit around Ibrox.

Rangers got out of the sticky stuff to steamroller Dundee on Tuesday and fans and while Philippe Clement has copped some Hotline flak, some punters are optimistic about the Scottish Cup Final and beyond. Andrew Lamb, Fraserburgh, said: “Only in Scotland could you find the usual suspects who are already questioning Clement’s position. The guy has done very well considering he was hamstrung by the disastrous Beale appointment. If Clement wins the Scottish Cup, than that's two trophies, and only a few points away from winning the league. Folk need to get real.”

Donald Dundas emailed: “It’s amazing how deluded the usual snipers are on the Hotline. Celtic have taken 10 points from Rangers and will only narrowly win the title. Once they come back to earth they may realise how they're only a slightly better standard of rubbish than Rangers. I look forward to another embarrassment in Europe and Celtic lowering our county's place in the coefficient.”

But Jamie Thompson, Yoker, said: “It looks as though we might need new manager. I’m sick of this Rangers team, the Ibrox board needs to sort this mess out as the fans deserve better than rubbish on pitch. If I was Jack Butland I would go ASAP.”

Celtic fans are still having fun with their chums. Stephen Ward, Milngavie, said: “Great support from Rangers fans to say goodbye to their players. Nice to see them dressed as seats…”

Robert McEwan, Mount Vernon, said: “If Todd Cantwell concerned himself with playing for his team he would have maybe got on park against Celtic. But he's too busy beating his chest and kissing badge to ingratiate himself with fans.”
