Crystal Palace 'unlikely' to sign £50m star at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace are unlikely to sign Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka following the arrival of Chris Richards, says The Sun’s Tom Barclay.

Reports have suggested that Palace are interested in bringing Wan-Bissaka back to Selhurst Park, but Barclay cannot see that happening after the south London club’s decision to recruit Richards.

Earlier this month, Sky Sports claimed that Palace were interested in re-signing Wan-Bissaka.

The 24-year-old left the Eagles for United in a £50m deal just over three years ago and was initially a regular at Old Trafford.

In his debut season for the Red Devils, he made 34 starts in the Premier League. However, last term, that number dropped to 20.

Wan-Bissaka is yet to feature under Erik ten Hag this campaign, and it is now believed that United are “open minded” about his short-term future.

With Richards, who is able to play at right-back, Nathaniel Clyne and Joel Ward all at Palace, Barclay thinks the Eagles re-signing Wan-Bissaka this summer is unlikely.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, The Sun journalist said: “I don’t think Wan-Bissaka’s very likely now because Chris Richards signed, who’s not always going to start at right-back, but they’ve obviously got Clyne, they’ve got Ward.

“Poor Nathan Ferguson’s injured again, so I don’t know about that one. But last I heard, yeah, unlikely on Wan-Bissaka.”

Now that Palace have Richards on top of Clyne, Ward and Ferguson, Patrick Vieira would probably be better off prioritising other areas of his squad instead of right-back.

The Premier League outfit, for example, could maybe do with another centre-forward, with Vieira himself recently admitting that he wants his side to score more goals.
