Cristiano Ronaldo has 'had enough' claims former Manchester United teammate after Everton defeat

Cristiano Ronaldo showed he’d “had enough” during Manchester United’s dismal defeat to Everton, according to former teammate Owen Hargreaves.

The Portuguese ace cut a frustrated figure at Goodison Park as United’s hopes of a top four finish were all-but ended by a 1-0 defeat. With seven games left in their season, they now find themselves six points off the pace, with a less-than favourable run-in to contend with.

Having missed out on the previous weekend’s draw with Leicester through illness, Ronaldo was back in the line-up on Merseyside on Saturday. His presence made little difference though, with United offering very little after falling behind midway through the first half.

The 37-year-old was starved of any service and had few opportunities to bring his side back into the game. His frustrations told late on in the game when he picked up a booking for punting the ball out of play, while he was forced to apologise after appearing to knock a phone out of the hands of a fan as he walked off the pitch after the full-time whistle.

Much has been made of Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford as the summer approaches, with some predicting he could look to move on should United fail to qualify for the Champions League, despite having a year left on his contract. Hargreaves admits the signs against Everton looked worrying.
