Gary Neville makes prediction about Cristiano Ronaldo under Erik ten Hag at Manchester United

Gary Neville has labelled Cristiano Ronaldo 'absolutely incredible' after yet another excellent goal for Manchester United against Chelsea on Thursday.

United managed to put a stop to the rot in their penultimate home match of the season on Thursday, as they held their London rivals to a 1-1 draw. It did look as though the match could go in the same direction as the recent defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal when Marcos Alonso volleyed home the opener in the second half.

However, United showed a fight that has been seldom seen in recent weeks and clawed back level just two minutes later thanks to more brilliance from Ronaldo. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner brought down Nemanja Matic's clipped pass over the top with grace, before rifling into the roof of the net.

Ronaldo is far and away United's top scorer this season with 23 strikes in all competitions. In fact, he's the only player to hit double figures. And Neville was full of praise for his former teammate after the match.

“He came to score goals, and he’s scoring goals," Neville said on Sky Sports. "He must be incredibly frustrated. It’s [this team’s performances] not what he wanted at the end of his career, not what he wanted on his return to Manchester United, but he still continues.

“His persistence, his determination to continue to contribute to score goals is absolutely incredible. You can’t really speak highly enough of him.

"His goal tonight was wonderful. He doesn’t really lose that belief in himself when you can see that’s a team lacking in confidence completely, yet he is still there. He’s still scored plenty of goals for united in a team that isn’t
